I like Shrek 4D.. I can even argue that it's one of my favourite attractions at Universal Studios. Although it's been around for a decade and a half, it still holds a strong appeal for me and my family. Even though technology is always advancing, at times exponentially, Shrek 4D still has a lot to offer.
There is an argument that it's in need of refurbishment, but with an attraction like this, it's not viable. This is probably the reason that Shrek 4D is on its last days.
But this is why going to central Florida can be exciting! Things are always changing, adapting, growing. No two visits to the major theme parks are the same, which is one of the reasons that people keep going back.
Which makes me wonder why some people hate on an attraction so very much. While researching for this attraction, I watched, read, and listened to a lot of people who did not like Shrek 4D. Everyone had their own personal reasons, but at the end of the day, what does it take to impress people? I live in a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada, and I can say that we have nothing close to what that one attraction can do. I think that the expectations of some are a little too high. But.... does this mean that rides and attractions are becoming so amazing and technological that our standards inevitably increase? This is an argument for intellectuals, which I am not one. 🤔
Well, the first real podcast is up and running. Admittedly, its a little rough around the edges, but I promise they will get smoother with everyone new one that I publish.
So far it has been a great experience, I get to research and talk about what I enjoy! What I didn't realize is the amount of work that's needed to broadcast a single episode. From research, to buying soundtracks, editing, and publishing. I have a new found respect for podcasters!!
I would like to thank my good friend Brandon Swartz for helping me this week with his intermission commercial, and I know I'll be using him a lot more in the future!
Now I have a request from you! Although I would like to think that I will talk about every attraction in Central Florida at some point, I really want to know which ones you want to hear first! Which attraction and what do you want to know about it? Please leave a comment below and I would be happy to oblige :)
That was the famous quote by none other than Walt Disney when he opened Disneyland in California in the 1950's. That day, long before I was born, would prove to be the spark that would eventually create my love of Central Florida and its parks. For quite sometime, I have been trying to figure out a way to be more closely connected to the theme parks. I considered many options, including searching for employment at the parks (hard to do when you're Canadian).
I found myself always listening to different podcasts, watching YouTube videos, and reading blogs. Then one day, I thought.. "why can't I do this for myself?"
Well, I can... and I did! Welcome to Ready, Set, Park!
I know that this will begin a journey for both myself, and you the listener. Pleas join me as we uncover a different attraction every week. I can't wait to see where we go next... hopefully you too! :-)
Kyle has worked most of his life in the law enforcement/security/emergency services world. Anyone with a career like that needs some time away from the hustle and bustle of work. With his podcast, he can bring to you what he really loves... spending time talking about Central Florida theme parks.
